The MP1570A and MP1570A1 are versatile analyzers for the R&D, manufacturing, installation, maintenance, and inspection of SONET, SDH, PDH, and ATM chipsets, systems, and networks. Their plug-in modular card architecture enables flexible configuration options for various applications. The MP1570A supports 5 slots for plug-in modules, and the MP1570A1 supports 6 slots.
Concatenated payloads can be generated to simulate live traffic from OC-3c/STM-1c to OC-192c/STM-64c. Streamlined options and features enable these sytesms to reach full performance potential and maximize testing capability.
Besides the standard testing features that are found in all test solutions, the MP1570A/A1 also provide a host of advanced features that include CID Pattern, No Frame Pattern, Mixed Payload, and different types of powerful through-mode functions that make them powerful tools for R&D and manufacturing.
Options such as: "Packet over SONET/SDH" (POS) and "IP over ATM" (IPOA) are now available in the MP1570A/A1 making them more powerful than before. When equipped with the POS option, real time counting of PPP (point to point protocol) packets in SONET or SDH frames can be performed. IP packet data editing, programming, PPP packet to packet interval setting, and transmission of PPP packets with FCS (frame check sequence) error --- all are possible with the POS option. And with the IPOA option, much faster analysis can be performed as ATM/AAL5 errors and alarms can be measured in real time.
The MP1570A/A1 functional design minimizes setup time and reduces costs by eliminating the need for multiple test instruments. These analyzers include a built-in printer and 3.5 inch floppy disk drive. By being physically small, portable, and yet supporting all rates from 1.5 Mbps to 10 Gbps in a single mainframe, you get more flexibility to test any rate without the troubles of changing plug-in modules. With the capability of supporting all three mappings -- SONET, SDH, and Japanese (384k) -- the MP1570A/A1 can be used anywhere in the world as very cost-effective global analyzers.
