The AP4010 is designed to measure amplitudefrequency characteristics of multimode optical fibers and their length and uses an operating principle based on the pulse method and frequency spectrum calculation, using Fourier-transform techniques.
The AP4010 uses an internal optical sampling converter and enables the integration of an optional mode scrambler. It uses two internal 850nm and 1300nm multimode laser diodes as light sources. The data acquisition, processing and control of the AP4010 is done by an external Windows based computer. The software allows for measurement analysis in the time domain: displaying and storing pulses, including width and time position as well as in the frequency domain: pulse amplitude spectrums, amplitude-frequency characteristics of the fiber under test and optical fiber bandwidth for the level of -3 dB.
